Smart Flow Cytometer Uses Clogging to Its Advantage

by Biotech Newsroom

Dynamically Adjusting the Height of Microfluidic Channels Improves Impedance Flow Cytometry Performance
Impedance flow cytometry measurements are adversely affected by the distance between the analyte and the sensing electrodes. By slightly squeezing the microfluidic channel, adapts the channel’s height to a desired particle size, and improves variability and sensitivity of detection. This innovative solution leverages the ‘clogging phenomena,’ which is typically a problem in flow cytometry systems, to enhance their analytical performance.
